What is travel protection?

Travel protection provides benefits covering medical expenses, trip cancellation, interruption, or delay, lost or delayed baggage, etc.

Many travel arrangements are non-refundable, and the best airline and cruise deals usually provide few options if you must cancel your trip. Often, your personal medical insurance provides little or no coverage when traveling abroad. And, how many times has your flight been cancelled or delayed?

Trip Cancellation or Interruption

Do you want to protect your prepaid trip costs if you must cancel or interrupt your trip? Trip Cancellation and Interruption protects the financial investment you’ve made in your travel arrangements against a variety of unforeseeable reasons, both medical and non-medical, that may affect you or your travel plans.

Baggage/Personal Effects Loss

You’ve heard it before, leave your valuables at home! But sometimes an expensive camera or formal suit taken on the trip is lost or stolen. Your homeowner’s policy may cover only a small portion of the total loss.

Medical/Dental Coverage

Does your health or dental insurance cover you away from home? Many health insurance plans offer little or no coverage for medical expenses you incur while traveling outside the United States. Our plans reimburse you for covered on-trip medical expenses and medical transportation costs if you must be evacuated for appropriate care.

Travel Delay

Our plan includes provisions to cover additional expenses incurred for meals and accommodations when you are delayed 8 hours or more due to a flight delay or cancellation, or for other covered reasons.

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions

All of our plans include a provision to waive the exclusion for pre-existing medical conditions. The waiver provision only applies if you purchase your travel protection plan within 15 days of the date you made your first payment for your travel arrangements. You must not already be disabled from travel at the time you purchase your plan.

Missed Connection

What happens when your layover doesn’t go as planned? Our benefits include coverage for additional expenses incurred for alternate travel arrangements and unused prepaid land or water arrangements when your arrival on your trip is delayed 3 hours or more due to a common carrier delay.
